You would text a quarter past ten To let me know you were almost ready I’d cast a stone at your window pane And be on the road a couple minutes later The windows down and high beam headlights, Breath it in honey, this town is ours Oh, how I miss those nights, when we would steal my daddy’s Chevy At night we parked by the top of the hill The engine off and the radio on We rolled some cigarettes run off the mill Smoked them anyways, we were young And here we are, Mulholland Drive And at our feet, the city skyline Like a mirror pointed at the stars, All the streetlights are shining so bright Feel the smoke, fill your lungs Then you blow it out, and all the pain is gone Oh, how I miss those nights, when you and I would steal my daddy’s Chevy At night we parked by the top of the hill The engine off and the radio on We rolled some cigarettes run off the mill Smoked them anyways, we were young There are many things that I’m not very proud of, But these nights, I never will take back. At night we parked by the top of the hill The engine off and the radio on We rolled some cigarettes run off the mill Smoked them anyways, we were young

My baby’s off with another guy, I know those eyes ain’t good at lying. She left me here like a stained suit, or like an ol’ pair of two tone shoes. But now that I’m honest with myself, she was nothing but a whole in my pocket where my change fell right through And I’m better off now that she’s far away. Yeah, I’m a fool, I’ll sing it loud and proud. I’m black and blue, But I’m not beaten down. Mary left last Saturday, she drove away on a Mercedes Benz. I guess she went for the money trend instead of “settling” for a better friend Now I’m left without here but better by myself Cause I can spend all my loot drinking booze. And I’m better off now that she’s far away. Yeah, I’m a fool, I’ll sing it loud and proud. I’m black and blue, But I’m not beaten down.

You left me at the bottom of the bottle My jacket to my shoes, smelling like Marlboro I wasn’t solo… Jack was there to drown my sorrows I wasn’t solo, no. When you packed your polka dots and walked through that door When you turned that key, Jack brought me back on my feet It was Bourbon And Coke, That’s who I sold my soul to. Bourbon And Coke It’s my spirit, it’s my go to. I felt like dropping by the way side, When you left that night without leaving a message. Over the barrel, Jack was much my only fellow I was feeling feeble, when you grabbed your rags and packed up your bags When you turned that key, Jack brought me back on my feet It was Bourbon And Coke, That’s who I sold my soul to. Bourbon And Coke When I needed someone to reach out to. … When I needed someone to lean on. One day I found myself alone with an empty glass I thought I had a friend who’d stay with me through every rough patch. Turned out that he was there to bring me down with him. And only got me sinking deeper down with ever drink.

Well goodbye my lover, I know this might seem I’m coming out of the blue This thought has troubled my head for a while, and it’s time for the truth Even though I still love you, the hour has come for me to move on So don’t take it personal, cause it’s not about you, so… Move on, be strong, let go. Move on, for that’s what I’ll do. This is the one thing that I cannot ignore It’s just may life long task that needs to be done It’s my wandering lust that’ll never be gone So I’m sliding off the map, Cause it’s all that I’ve ever known, so… Move on, be strong, let go. Move on, for that’s what I’ll do. So I’m sliding off the map tonight Cause it’s the only thing that seems to be right. Move on, be strong, let go. Move on, for that’s what I’ll do.

about

Two Tone Blues EP, is a record that talks about changes that life throws at you and the sense of freedom that one can get when embracing those changes with courage. Sing the blues for a moment of two. Then get back up and move on. Take the punches and get bruised up. Then get back up and move on. “Yeah I’m a fool, I’ll sing it loud and proud. I’m black and blue, but I’m not beaten down.” – (The Road Atlas, Two Tone Blues)
