about

Roses And Maps portrays that moment in time when you first discover your passion and fall in love with it. The Road Atlas pulls off a sound that resemble a mix between Bruce Springsteen, Social Distortion and Husker Dü.

The song is the first part of a three part story that walks the listener through the life of someone who follows his/her dreams. Roses And Maps, being the first release and chapter, explains how one can fall in love with a craft and how this passion changes life forever. The second chapter, which is told in the second single, Vicious Weather, explains how this passion helps you get through the rough times. Last but not least, The Glory is the third song. The tune finishes the trilogy off by showing the glorious feeling that you get when holding on to your passion during rough patches in order to get through them.

lyrics

They brought wind roses and maps
Gave us the tools we needed to survive.

Do you remember
How it felt?
How it hit the brain
Like a train
Joey, Joe and Johnny blew the roof
They shook the room
Like a storm with one strum
Lightning loud

And with the sound,
They brought wind roses and maps
Gave us the tools we needed to survive.
And the roses and applause
Gave us the feeling that maybe this dream could last

Do you remember
What it meant?
We could change the world
With these words
Joey, Joe and Johnny said it best
On a verse
Spinning and screaming with the crowd
Lightning loud

And with the sound,
They brought wind roses and maps
Gave us the tools we needed to survive.
And the roses and applause
Gave us the feeling that maybe this dream could last

The power in the chords
Filled our teenage hearts with pride
And we could eat the world
Eat the world in one bite

And with the sound,
They brought wind roses and maps
Gave us the tools we needed to survive.
And the roses and applause
Gave us the feeling that maybe this dream could last
